#I.H.O.P.
IHOP? I’m sure immediately you are thinking pancakes. Not quite. #I.H.O.P. has been my hashtag, typically at the end of a rant about some idiot, again justifying to myself why I hate people! Do I hate all people? No. I have a small circle, well a dot, and I LOVE my dog and to me he is my people! Regardless, there is this hate I have for many people. I tolerate a lot and try not to show my frustration outwardly but when you have reached my last nerve you are getting IHOP’d. So, what does it stand for? Kind of reminds me of that OPP song when I ask that. If you are not singing that in your head right now you are way too old or boring to be reading my blog. Anyway, IHOP is easy:
I I
H Hate
P People
What about the O you ask? Well, depending on the situation the O is very flexible. I don’t discriminate. People come in all levels of stupidity or rudeness and you never know when you are going to run into one. You can simply pick and O word that suits your needs. Here are a few I’ve used:
Obnoxious, Out-of-state, Old, Over-the-border, Oblivious, Offensive, One-sided, Oppressive, Over-the-top (this could mean many things to me. I have met people over-the-top emotionally, with aggression, being protective. Whatever it is if it annoys me, you are IHOP’d)
Now some of you will say…aww, old people? They are so cute. What kind of an asshole hates old people? Seriously. I don’t hate all old people. But you have to admit there is that one cantankerous old biddy you have run into that just gives the sweet ones a bad name. I know some older people retire, adapt to the slower pace of life, and chill out. But let’s face it, if you see the douchebags of our generation walking around acting all offended and loud mouthed. What do you think is going to change just because they go gray and wear track suits? Perspective…..a young jerk just ages into an old jerk.
So, do I walk around with a constant chip on my shoulder, hating people, and have a sign on my car or body saying mess with me I will hate you anyway? Of course not. My parents taught me manners and I am the type of person that has worked very hard in customer service since the age of 14 and I am always kind, polite, and appreciative wherever I go. I do not feel entitled. Nor do I look down on people. So when I find myself in a situation you better understand that my reaction is completely justified. I don’t simply pick people out of a crowd and choose to judge them based on the way they look. I am a very simple person. Do stupid crap to me, assume things about me, mistreat me or my family, act a fool publicly, or you are just a total rectum pirate altogether I think you have totally earned a seat at the table to eat pancakes.
